Planning

Ceremony planning questions

Can we have our ceremony and reception at the same venue?
Yes. White Chapel sits on the White Barn Pokolbin estate, where many couples hold their ceremony in the chapel and continue their celebration on the same property. The chapel is your ceremony space; reception, dining and dancing are coordinated through your wedding package.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Your chapel ceremony proceeds regardless of weather. Rain, wind, or extreme heat will not delay your processional or leave guests standing outside. Vineyard views through the glazing remain part of your vows.
How many guests can the chapel seat?
White Chapel accommodates up to 100 seated guests for wedding ceremonies. Flexible aisle layouts adapt to your processional style and wedding party size. Smaller guest lists may be covered under micro wedding packages with different limits.
Can we bring our own celebrant?
Yes. Most couples choose their own authorised celebrant. The silk arbour provides a clear focal point, sightlines work from every row, and the in-house PA carries vows and readings evenly. We coordinate access, timing, and audio before your day.
Can we decorate the chapel?
Yes. Your florist and stylist can enhance the silk arbour, aisle, and entrance while respecting the chapel's features. Bring styling questions to your site visit and we will coordinate setup timing with your vendors.
Is the chapel available year-round?
Yes. White Chapel is air-conditioned and comfortable in every season. Indoor ceremony removes the uncertainty of outdoor weddings in peak summer or midwinter.
Is there accommodation nearby?
White Barn has an on-site guest house a short walk from White Chapel Pokolbin. For larger guest lists, we can recommend trusted local accommodation across Pokolbin and the wider Hunter Valley.
How far is White Chapel from Sydney?
A little over two hours from Sydney and about 50 minutes from Newcastle by car. Many couples treat a Hunter Valley chapel wedding as a relaxed wine-country weekend.
How does catering work after the ceremony?
The chapel is your ceremony space only. After your recessional, guests usually move to cocktail hour on the lawns. Dining and reception service are coordinated through your wedding package.
Is the chapel accessible?
On-site parking and level access from the car park to the ceremony space. At your site visit we walk the route and discuss any mobility, hearing, or other access requirements.
