Pokolbin · Family-run since 2020

The barn behind your day

A purpose-built Hunter Valley venue where Sue and Anna-a mother-and-daughter coordination team-carry your story from first enquiry and tailored site tours through a curated run sheet on the day itself.

Built for weddings

Purpose-designed from the ground up

The White Barn was not retrofitted-it was imagined as a ceremony-to-reception destination, with flow, light, and guest comfort drafted before the first beam went up.

By the numbers

600+ weddings (and counting)

Since we opened, couples have trusted this pocket of Pokolbin for one of life’s biggest chapters-each celebration adding to the rhythm of the valley.

Same voice, start to finish

Sue, Anna & a clear run sheet

Sue leads on-the-day coordination; Anna runs operations beside her. Together they hold a stress-tested run sheet for your wedding-so you are not left hiring a separate planner to glue the day together.

White Chapel and estate at White Barn Pokolbin Hunter Valley

Sue, Darren & Anna

Where family meets forever

White Barn is owned and run by Sue and her husband Darren. What began as a bold idea in 2020-to create a dedicated wedding home in the Hunter Valley-has grown into a thriving venue anchored by their standards: warmth without fuss, clarity without jargon, and an estate that feels finished in every season.

Their daughter Anna is our operations manager-the steady hand behind rosters, supplier touchpoints, and the unseen checklist that keeps weekends humming. She knows this business from every angle: how the barn breathes at capacity, what works in wet weather, and how a timeline should feel for guests, not just on paper. Anna is also an authorised marriage celebrant through From Anna With Love-so ceremony cadence, legal moments, and crowd flow sit in the same headspace as venue logistics.

Sue’s role does not stop when you book. She is our on-the-day coordinator: your initial enquiry, personalised site tours, fielding questions alongside you both, recommendations that suit budget and taste, and hands-on support when the doors open. She and Anna work as one unit-so successful running of the day is not luck; it is shared instinct built from hundreds of barn weddings.

Every celebration is backed by a curated run sheet-who is where, when, and what happens next-refined to keep the rhythm smooth and stress low. Most couples do not need a dedicated external wedding planner; the plan lives here, with people who already know your venue. Darren supports the business and estate alongside them; together the family knows every corner because they built its story with the White Chapel, guest spaces, and the generous reception hall that carries your speeches, meals, and midnight laughter.

What guides us

Designed once. Refined every weekend.

We treat every booking as a partnership: your taste, our infrastructure-aligned so guests remember the joy, not the logistics.

Guidance you can use

Whether you need clarity on packages, vendor shortlists, or how the day should breathe from ceremony to reception, Sue and Anna ground advice in how this estate actually runs-not generic checklists from someone who has never worked a Saturday here.

Honest counsel

If something will not serve your day, we will say so. Our reputation rests on realistic timelines, transparent packages, and vendors who deliver at Hunter Valley standard.

Run sheet, not guesswork

Your timeline is captured in a curated run sheet so vendors, family, and staff share one truth. That clarity replaces the need for a separate planner team-you already have coordination in-house.
